Pina Colada and Baby Hula Lula

I learned about these two when someone wanted me to help them find the name of a pony they had when they were little. They described her as a G3 pony that was red with some blue and yellow in the hair, and palm trees for a cutie mark. After searching through the My Little Pony Wiki by the color chart, looking through red ponies (and pink just to be sure), the only one I found that matched that description almost to a tee was Baby Hula Lula. However, they said that wasn't the one. Since Hula Lula was the only G3 I could find that was that similar, I thought "Maybe they were mistaken and it was actually a G1 pony...", and sure enough, I found Pina Colada who turned out to be it! So yes, this Pina Colada is actually from G1.

Now seeing the similarities between these two ponies, I knew something had to be up. They're both pink, both tropical themed, have basically the same colors in the hair, and both have palm tree cutie marks, and blue eyes. G3 Hula Lula MUST be a "reincarnation" of G1 Pina Colada! Even more evidence, if you look at Pina Colada's Wiki entry, it says her UK name is "Hula Hula", which may be a stretch, but it sounds way too similar to "Hula Lula" be a mere coincidence. Now since there's no way to actually confirm this, I can't say it's true. But come ON! Just look at them! It has to be at least somewhat true.

Now since Pina Colada is from G1, and Hula Lula is a baby and from G3, I came up with a headcanon that they're mother and daughter. G3 would probably make them big and little sisters if they were to actually market them (like Tira-mi-su and Mochanut and Dance Slippers and Dance Around), but since they're from separate generations, I like the idea of mother and daughter.

I decided to translate Pina Colada into G3 style instead of leaving her G1 style because I wanted to put them both in the same universe. I also redesigned her cutie mark using pieces from Hula Lula's to make it look like they're obviously related, and I thought her having the island while Hula didn't, would match the theme the sister sets did with one pony having more things in their cutie mark and the other being more simplified. I won't be releasing this cutie mark as stock though since it's my own design, but soon I may try to make a vector of her official G1 cutie mark.

Update: It's barely noticeable (even I missed it), but I forgot to add those little lines on the fronts of their eyes. Whoops!
